Concept 39 - 1 - 3

1. I'm most afraid of the people I depend on dying.  For example, I don't know what I would do if my mom died right now because I'm dependent on her. The my friends and family would have to be in danger for me to face my fear.

2. I don't like giving speeches, and in 8th grade I had to give a hand written speech and present it to the class. I was scared out of my mind and when I heard my name called, I froze. I just had to suck it up and do it, but to this day I still don't like giving speeches.

3. My hero is afraid of being framed. He was framed for a murder and was found guilty, so he fled the country to start a new life. I think my hero will have to face a huge fraud and prove himself innocent before he can get over the fear.

Rashomon Chart and Reflection

The Bandit  - Made his                            The Woodcutter - Told the true
story sound heroic and brave.                   story of how the woman made the
                                                                 samurai and bandit fight.

                                           Rashomon

The Woman - Said that                            The Samurai - Said that the bandit
she fainted after the samurai                     ran off, and that he killed himself when
was cut loose then woke to find               his wife left.
the samurai dead.

I believe the Woodcutter's story was the truest, because it's from a spectator's perspective and he has nothing to confess to.  However since he stole the dagger it might be a lie.  I think it shows how fearful people are to giving the right story and how it could affect them.

Quickwrite: Multiple Perspectives

1.  The TV show Lost hold some different perspectives on life on the unknown island.  Some think that they should leave the island, while others believe it changed them completely.  There is a constant struggle between what is the right choice and whether to try to get off or not.

Concept 27

1. Thatcher and Linda take the subway home. He makes Linda laugh so she would be comfortable, and then finally is about to as the question when the announcement comes over the PA system and they come to a stop. Then he asks her, she says no, and slaps him.

2. John walks into the classroom and everyone stares at him since he is tardy, he sits down and the teacher makes a smart comment about his being late. The teacher continues teaching and John asks Susan for a sheet of paper. The teacher then yells at John for talking while he is teaching, and sends him to a different seat in the corner of the classroom.

3. I'd like my short to mostly take place in a cafe in a busy city. I think it's the perfect setting because it's a common hang out place, and also you get to know all of the workers there and their personalities and how the react to the cafe regulars.

Citizen Kane - Non-Linear Movies

It's a very good way to keep interest, and make the movie unpredictable.  Also it keeps you guessing what's going on, and what time frame is being shown.

I thought it was a good movie, but I don't agree that it's the best movie of all time.  I appreciate the different visual frames and camera sequences, but the story and the ending was a bit of a let down.  But I did like the non-linear aspect of the movie, I thought it was a very nice touch.

Citizen Kane - What we know about Charles Foster Kane so far

Charles Foster Kane is a very rich man, who doesn't like to hide his wealth.  He's the editor of some newspaper, and he was married, but his wife died.  And he's not a favorite to most people, but some want him elected as president.  He has a mansion/castle called Xanadu.

Freaks and Geeks Reflection

My favorite episode so fr has been the recent one we just watched about Kim finding out that Daniel was cheating on her.  I liked it because it was intense, and still comical.  And how all of Lindsay's new friends met Mr. and Mrs. Weir.  It was also pretty dark, but still entertaining.

Freaks and Geeks, Halloween Episode

1.  That she's struggling with her identity, and deep down she's still a geek, but she wants to seem more like a freak.

2.  Lindsay ditching her mom to hang out with her friends, Sam going trick-or-treating with his friends (even though he's considered too old,) Sam and his friends getting beat up by Alan for their candy, and Lindsay accidentally egging Sam with her friends.

3.  They show Lindsay that she's becoming the person that used to bug her when she was a kid.  And she's seeing the effects of her misbehavior by how same reacts.

Concept 10 - 1, 2, 3

1.  I feel like I know a lot about super hero films.  You can use that in a short film to show conflict between hero and villain.  Or dialogue between the hero, and the victim he saved.

2.  You can use google, films, or books in the library to find out more information about the topic.  Search engines are a very useful tool.

3.  I don't know much about romance, or romantic comedies.  Mostly because that's not a type of movie or book that I enjoy.

Concept 9

1. On the distant planet Pandora, a river is disturbed by the constant ripples from the sinking ship Titanic.  Creatures from every direction attack the survivors, while one individual takes a stand.  Batman fights off the creatures vigilantly.  Protecting and saving the passengers is his objective.

Concept 8 - 1 and 3

1. I would have the scene as Orlando getting hurt right before the game, and having to follow through anyways, and Resse being worried that he would get further injured.

3. Character: Doctor, Setting: Porch, Prop: Skateboard.
The doctor visited Mrs. Johnson on her porch, and knocked on the door.  When he informs her that she has cancer, she freaks out.  He backs off and steps on a skateboard, slips, and falls directly on his head.  The doctor dies moments later.

1. (1.) One Day - Unstoppable
(2.) One Week - Land of the Lost
    (3.) Several Months - Limitless
    (4.) Ten + Years - Forrest Gump

Short Script Reflection

The best scene in my script would probably be the mischievous acts that got the protagonist kicked out of his home city (due to being a nuisance).  There is dialogue between Twilty (the main character) and the Bandle City police, to which his conversation got him removed from the city.
