Quickwrite: Multiple Perspectives

1.  The TV show Lost hold some different perspectives on life on the unknown island.  Some think that they should leave the island, while others believe it changed them completely.  There is a constant struggle between what is the right choice and whether to try to get off or not.

Concept 27

1. Thatcher and Linda take the subway home. He makes Linda laugh so she would be comfortable, and then finally is about to as the question when the announcement comes over the PA system and they come to a stop. Then he asks her, she says no, and slaps him.

2. John walks into the classroom and everyone stares at him since he is tardy, he sits down and the teacher makes a smart comment about his being late. The teacher continues teaching and John asks Susan for a sheet of paper. The teacher then yells at John for talking while he is teaching, and sends him to a different seat in the corner of the classroom.

3. I'd like my short to mostly take place in a cafe in a busy city. I think it's the perfect setting because it's a common hang out place, and also you get to know all of the workers there and their personalities and how the react to the cafe regulars.

Jack - Is a doctor and the leader.

Kate - Is a strong person who overcomes fear.

Hurley - Talks like a Californian, is a scaredy cat.

Boone - Is a city type, and is obsessed with getting cell phone reception.

2. In the season premier of The Walking Dead, nobody expected the boy to get shot while the others were hunting.  It was shocking when it happened.

1. A. Momento - Tries to find his wife's killer.
    B. Harry Potter - Tries to avenge his parents, and learn spells.
    C. The Book of Eli - Tries to keep the only copy of the bible safe from being destroyed.

Are all character driven movies.

The theme of the script I'm writing would end with - when alone, not much can be accomplished.

Citizen Kane - Non-Linear Movies

It's a very good way to keep interest, and make the movie unpredictable.  Also it keeps you guessing what's going on, and what time frame is being shown.

I thought it was a good movie, but I don't agree that it's the best movie of all time.  I appreciate the different visual frames and camera sequences, but the story and the ending was a bit of a let down.  But I did like the non-linear aspect of the movie, I thought it was a very nice touch.
